Gente Peixe
Exhibition concept for the CRAB - Brazilian Crafts Reference Centre, Rio de Janeiro, 2021.
Reinforcing CRAB's mission to value and contextualize Brazilian artistic and craft production, the exhibition "Fish People and the Crafts of the Waterlands" introduced the first showcase dedicated exclusively to Brazilian indigenous cultures. Focusing on the Rio Negro peoples, "Gente Peixe" immersed visitors in the culture of one of Brazil's richest ethnographic regions, known for its extensive and diverse material culture. Rooted in mythical tales about the origins of the world, people, and things, the exhibition guided visitors to discover the stories, origins, and territories related to how these people create artifacts as expressions of their culture and ancestral creativity.
